God is good

3 good things happened after I had an emotional breakdown today:

1. I will have a phone again by Fri. or Sat. We were able to get another line with Jim's carrier service (AT&T) and we got the phone for $1. It will be here by Fri. and then I just need to activate it

2. Jim was able to sell Jordie's computer to a friend at work for $100 so we will have grocery and gas money to last until next pay day

3. I won a contest at work and got a $50 Walmart card! Yeah! I'm going to go to the walmart in Bellevue so I can get some sparklers (fireworks are illegal in Omaha) for Jordie for the 4th and get the things we need for our picnic with the Workmans.

Things are looking up and they can only get better right???

no phone

If anyone needs to get a hold of me you will have to e-mail me. My cell phone has been shut off because I don't have the money to pay it. Our internet will probably be shut off soon too so I will have to check it at work when I can.

Surgery again

Everyone please be praying for my husband. He found out that he has to have another surgery on his upper spine. They are going to schedule it for July. Originally it was going to be the 3 week in July but that's when I'm gone so he called and left a message for the dr. asking for them to do it after the 24th. This also means I will be busting my butt with more hours to make up for the loss of his pay so pray for strength for me too. They always say to count on being out for 6 weeks. In the past he's been able to go back on light duty after 2 or 3 weeks and I hope that will happen this time too. I'm going to see if Courtney will come down here again to help him out too since I will be working all the time.

kindergarten appointment

Jordan had her kindergarten appointment yesterday. She was such a brave girl. She is 47 pounds and 47 1/2 inches tall! She had to get her finger pricked to check her lead levels and had to get 2 shots--she didn't even cry! I was so proud of her. She winced up and gave me a look like she was in a lot of pain but she didn't shed a tear. They also took her to test her hearing and vision. Her hearing and vision came out just fine. The nurse told her they were going to "play games" while they tested her. She thought it was great. She has an appointment the end of July to have her reflux in her bladder retested. Hopefully that has cleared up so she won't have to take the antibiotics everyday. She has her dentist appointment next Monday and then she will be set to start school.

Done Babysitting!

Yesterday was my last official day of babysitting. Thank goodness! Now I'm working like crazy to get money saved up for my trip and to pay off bills. I'm working 54 hours this coming week. I'll will pick up a bunch more for the week after next too. June 29th is the last day to work for the check I will get before my trip. I'll still have to work quite a few hours though when I get back because I have to make up for the $170 I got each week for babysitting. One thing is for sure though, once school starts I will not be working weekends because that's going to be my only time to see Jordan. During the week I will only see her in the morning before school and then for a little over an hour after school. It's going to be so hard to go from having her with me all day long to only seeing her that little bit each day.
I've got to start going through things for a yard sale too. I'm going to have that the weekend before I leave on my trip. Hopefully that will bring in a little more spending money. Although we are selling alot of stuff to try and get down to minimal possessions and hopefully get the house up for sell soon. The housing market is so slow right now though I'm not sure we will be able to sell it. We also have some work to get done on it before it can go on the market too.

Up to plan Z

Well we are up to plan Z with my trip back home this summer. We have had to use my vacation account to pay bills in the last month or so and I was worried I wasn't going to be able to go out to Washington. My mom is my angel though and has agreed to buy me and Jordan bus tickets to get to my dads. Unfortunately that means Courtney can't go with us this time but I'm sure she will come out with us again sometime. I Really Really wanted to get back out to see my family and my mom can't afford to buy 3 tickets. I hope Courtney will understand. The bus trip shouldn't be that bad. It will be nice not to have to do all the driving and I can just sit back and enjoy the scenery :) I will have to pack Jordan's toy bag to keep her busy on the trip. Maybe we will have all of our letters learned by the time we get to dad's house! I have a couple of workbooks for her to work on this summer. My mom will be getting our tickets next week and they are advanced purchase and no refunds so we will be locked into it. I'm so excited now that I know we will be going for sure!

Scrapbooking

Jordan, Courtney and I went to Des Moines on Sat. to meet my mom at the hotel to work on scrapbooking. Jordan and Courtney enjoyed time swimming. I was able to get 3 two-page spreads done and 2 single pages. I wanted to say thanks again to my mom for the gas money, paying for the hotel, our meals and for getting my little "extras" at Archivers. I can't wait until we can go back again.
James and Courtney are both going home today so we will be back to some sense of normalcy for a few weeks anyway. They both say they will be back soon but aren't sure when exactly. I only have 5 more days of babysitting. They will be here Wed. and Fri. this week and Mon, Wed. and Fri. next week. Then I will be working my butt of to pay back my savings account because it's only 5 1/2 weeks until I leave for my dads. We had to borrow $400 from my savings over the last month and I need to get it paid back so I have the money for the trip. I've picked up 11 1/2 extra hours for this week and will be picking up extra for next few weeks too.

Jordan has a class at the zoo today that my mom paid for (actually she has 5 classes this summer) as a present for her birthday. She is very excited about the classes.
