Home safe and sound

Well....8 days, 7 states (NE, IA, SD, WY, MT, ID and WA) and 3431 miles we are home safe and sound. The trip was well worth it. I just wish I could have got out there before grandpa passed away. The driving really wasn't that bad and Jordan was a real trooper. Maybe we should become long haul truck drivers :) Just kidding. Here's a link to the pictures I took during our travels http://www.kodakgallery.com/ShareLandingSignin.jsp?Uc=rjxeypd.1tqskizx&Uy=-5tmluo&Upost_signin=Slideshow.jsp%3Fmode%3Dfromshare&Ux=0&UV=447627509140_396847959405
Parker and Erica are here today and Jordan has to go back to school. I have a ton of laundry and cleaning to do. Can't wait until July when we do it all over again. Although I will be modifying my itenerary somewhat because of the expense of going out this month.

In Rapid City, South Dakota

We made it to Rapid City. I decided to stay here instead of Spearfish because I want to go by Mount Rushmore on our way home tomorrow and Rapid City puts us closer to it. We saw alot of antelope again today. Jordan got sick of seeing them :) We should be home by dark tomorrow. Will post some pictures and more about our trip later.

Heading back home

We are on our way back home now. We stayed in Bozeman, MT last night. Today we will drive to Spearfish, SD again. We will be home on Wednesday. Grandpa's service went really well. We filled the hall there was so many people.

We are tired and looking forward to being home in our own beds again. Will post again tonight if there is Internet access at the hotel.

Doing good on the road

We've made it most of the way. We are in Missoula, Montana now. Yesterday was a 12 hour day. We were tired by the time we got to the hotel. I took Jordie swimming for about 45 minutes and then we came back up to the room, showered and went to bed. She slept like a rock!

We've seen alot of wildlife on this trip: deer, antelope, wild turkeys, a bald eagle and of course alot of cows and horses.

Thanks to everyone who is keeping us in your prayers.

Prayers for Peaceful Passing

My grandpa is not doing well and may not make it through the night. Please pray for a peaceful passing. He was unhooked from his IV's two days ago so it is just a matter of time.

Cutie-pa-tootie in her new outfit from Grandma Diane

prayers please

Please pray for my grandfather Bob Johanson. He has been in a nursing home for a while now and had a bad stroke on Monday night. My grandma says his left side is paralyzed and he can not talk. I tried to call my grandma tonight to see how he was but she didn't answer so she must be at the nursing home with him. I will post an update as soon as I know anything.

My birthday

My birthday was pretty low key. Jordan and I went to church at 11:00. Our choir put on a beautiful preformance. We went out to lunch with Pastor Jason, Kelly and their family after church. Then we came home and picked up stuff from Jordie's party and just kind of lazed around for the entire day. James came to visit for about an hour and half and I ordered Pizza Hut pizza for my birthday dinner. I'm going to go to another 12 hour scrapfest the end of this month and that's my birthday present from Jim. Didn't really do anything else. How does the song go....."another year older and deeper in debt".

Jordan's birthday party

Last picture as a 4 year old

Jordan's birthday party was a success despite the horrible weather we had. We had a severe thunder storm come through just an hour and a half before her party and I was worried the kids minght not show up. Only 2 didn't show out of the 9 that RSVP'd. Jordan had a great time. The kids didn't really want to eat the hotdogs, jello, carrots and pretzels that I served for dinner. They all ate a few bites and then gave up. Jordan got lots of My Little Ponies and Littlest Pet Shop stuff. She was in seventh heaven. My mother sent her a Barbie with a dog. I don't know if my mom realized or not but this dog eats it's food pellets and the poops them out! The Barbie doll has a little pooper scooper that she is supposed to clean the poop up with. Jordan says it's her favorite toy. UGGH! She was telling everyone about it at church this morning :)
